Hidaa Chuchepati Hidaa (Walk Chuchepati Walk) project under Happiness Sunflower Handcraft Project has been successfully completed.
I, Dolma would like to thank Debbie Tang, Rita, Matthew, Lucci, Heidi, Shadow, Eva Chan, Nussica Cho and all volunteers from Hong Kong for their kind support. Special thanks to Debbie Tang who co-ordinated two day shoe workshop at Hong Kong on 24th August, 2017 and 26th August, 2017. I also thank Radhika and Manzu from Nepal for helping as a translator.
We visited 23 families on 31st October, 2017 and 1st November, 2017 and distributed shoe for their family.
I was translator in this project for two days. I am happy to know deprived family closely during these two days. All families were very happy to receive shoe. When we asked them how they felt receiving shoe they shared us that shoe would keep them warm this winter. These facts stroke our mind as we put on shoe just for comfort while walking. This project made us realize about the fact that shoe keep us warm during winter. Also, Nepalese parents are aware about the importance of education for their children. Parents spend their hard earned money to provide education to their children and remaining they spend to pay rent.
Hong Kong volunteers shared that they found Nepalese people honest and kind hearted. They shared that although these 23 families are money-wise poor they are rich by heart.
All in all, I feel great to be part of this project. I believe, this project not only helped people with a shoe for warmth this winter but also filled their life with new hope for better life. I feel proud of all Nepalese people who represent themselves as enduring, kindhearted and honest.
Once again, I want to thank all beautiful, kind souls for their support to help earthquake survivors of Nepal.
